The Roswell Symphony Orchestra Board has been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation locally and nationwide. In view of the mandates from Governor Lujan Grisham and to do our part in preventing the spread of the virus in our communities, we regret that the April 18th, 2020 finale concert must be cancelled.
This decision was made with a heavy heart. The Roswell Symphony Orchestra and Chorus, UTEP Chamber Singers, and vocal soloists from around the region have been preparing this concert for months and were excited to be presenting Beethoven Symphony No. 9 to our audience for the first time. Our season has been a great success and to cancel or postpone the performance is not how we envisioned ending this special 60th anniversary season.
The raffle of the Richard Knadle painting that has been part of our 60th anniversary celebration will occur at our October 2020 premier concert. Tickets will remain available for purchase at roswellsymphony.org and (575) 623-5882.
We thank you for your continued support of our organization. We hope that you will consider helping us through this uncertain time by making a monetary donation to support the orchestra, purchasing a 60th anniversary t-shirt or painting raffle ticket, and joining us for our 2020-21 season!
Best wishes to our community – remain safe and well – we will see you again soon! We look forward to presenting for your enjoyment the Beethoven Symphony No. 9 at the earliest opportunity in our upcoming season!
